An American in Australia
Australia is an English-speaking country, but some things are different from the U.S. I have to listen carefully, especially to children, because I am not used to the Australian accent yet. There are signs along the street that say "P1/4" or "P2." Someone explained that "P" means "parking" and the numbers are the hours I can park. At the store, I bought some delicious-looking bread, but I didn't check the label. It was very heavy and didn't have much taste. Then I looked at the label. It said "Hot Bread, Ready in 18 minutes." I had to bake it 18 minutes before I could eat it!
